Parent–Teacher Meetings (PTM)

At Topcrest International School, Parent–Teacher Meetings (PTMs) are conducted twice each academic year to provide parents with a structured and meaningful opportunity to review their child’s academic progress, behaviour, and overall development. These meetings are designed to strengthen communication between home and school and to ensure that every student receives consistent academic and emotional support.

Parents are encouraged to use PTMs to discuss their child’s performance, learning challenges, and any school-related matters that may influence their progress. If parents need further discussion outside the scheduled PTMs, they may arrange a formal appointment through the Class Coordinator, the Head of School, or the Guidance Counsellor.

In order to maintain a safe and disciplined learning environment, parents are not permitted to enter classrooms or school premises without prior approval or official invitation. Upon arriving at the school for meetings or appointments, parents must report to the school office before proceeding further. Classes should not be interrupted to deliver books, school materials, or personal belongings to students. Such items may be handed over during designated break times. Tiffin and necessary items should be sent with students at the beginning of the school day. Sending money to teachers for food purchases or delivering items during class hours is not allowed.

If a student is absent, parents should contact the respective teacher after school hours to request homework assignments. To prevent loss or confusion, parents are strongly advised to label all books, uniforms, and personal belongings clearly with the student’s name and identification number. Parents are also requested not to contact teachers or staff members at their personal residences. In emergency situations, contact may be made before 7:00 PM; however, under normal circumstances, communication should be made through the school office, where messages will be recorded and forwarded appropriately.

A Partnership with Parents

Topcrest International School firmly believes that the success of every student depends on a strong partnership between parents and the school. Education is most effective when families and educators work together with mutual respect, shared responsibility, and open communication. Establishing a cooperative relationship ensures that students receive consistent guidance both at school and at home.

Parents are encouraged to maintain regular communication with teachers and inform the school promptly of any academic, emotional, or social difficulties their child may be experiencing. Student absences should be reported to the school by phone on the first day and followed by a written explanation. Parents should ensure that their child receives adequate sleep each night in order to remain attentive and productive during lessons.

Developing a habit of reading from an early age is strongly recommended. Parents should read to their children when they are young and gradually encourage independent reading as they grow older. It is also important to monitor and limit the amount of time spent on television, internet, and mobile devices, ensuring that the content accessed is appropriate. Establishing a consistent daily routine for homework and examination preparation helps students build discipline, concentration, and responsibility. Encouraging regular English communication at home further strengthens language proficiency and confidence.

Students benefit greatly when parents support their participation in school events, conferences, cultural programs, and extracurricular activities. These experiences contribute significantly to personal growth and character development. Throughout the academic year, parents will have opportunities to meet members of the senior management team to share suggestions, express concerns, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the school. Through mutual cooperation and trust, Topcrest International School and its families work together to create a positive, disciplined, and inspiring environment where every student can achieve excellence and grow into a responsible global citizen.
